Blog 10: Reflection

After I learned about the Monomyth ( The Hero's journey), I am now being able to theoretically identify most of the elements to be a hero and different kinds of journey and trials they will have to face to be succeed in their assigned tasks. After watching "spirited away" in class and listen to the explanation from Professor, I start to be able to connect the elements in the monomyth to the story in this film. I decide to choose one of my favorite films which are "The Lightning Thief" for this paper because I find that it has many similarities with the monomyth. This film shows many of the elements in the monomyth very clearly. After doing this assignment, I think now I am being able to identify that many of the films have incorporate this monomyth in the hero’s quest to make the story to be more interesting.
